Please mark your calenders for July 13th and 14th, 2017 for our next Glut1 Deficiency Foundation Conference, and we are excited to announce that Nashville, Tennessee was chosen by our board as our next gathering place.

We plan both family and professional programs again, with some joint sessions between the two groups as well as some specialized breakout programs for each.

Nashville, also known as Music City, is a popular vacation spot and is ranked in the top 10 best budget destinations in the world.  We hope the central location will allow for many families and professionals to be able to make the trip and enjoy some vacation time while attending the conference.  An international airport and several interstate systems service the city.

The venue will be the Inn at Opryland, located near the Grand Ole Opry and the Opry Mills shopping complex.  Special room rates will be available for conference attendees at $149 nightly, and that rate can be extended for three days prior to the conference block and for three days after.  The hotel offers free parking, free wi-fi, and a free shuttle to nearby attractions.

The structure will be similar to our last meeting in Orlando.  Instead of separate family and professional programs, we will have joint whole group sessions for both families and professionals with some specialized breakout sessions.

A list of planned speakers and topics is below.  Separate social activities will be planned during the conference and there will be an unsupervised children’s activity room provided and families can bring their own caregivers to make use of the room and activities.  A hospitality area will be arranged to help in storing and preparing ketogenic meals.

Registration is now open and rates begin at $150 for adults, $60 for siblings, and $20 registration for Glut1 Deficiency patients.   These rates are good through June 1st.  Caregivers may register at no cost with no meals or pay a separate registration cost to cover meals.

As our social activity for Friday evening, we have arranged for group tickets to The Grand Ole Opry.  The Opry features performances from new artists, superstars, and country music legends.  The show begins at 7:00 PM and the Opry House is very close to the hotel with a free shuttle provided.  We will have group seating, special recognition, and will wear our conference t-shirts (see below).  Tickets are $50 each and are not included in registration prices.  Tickets must be reserved and purchased by June 10th.  Please visit this link to get your tickets if you would like to join us.
