The Glut1 Deficiency Foundation will host its 2022 Scientific and Family Conference in person in San Diego, California at the Kona Kai Resort. There will be options for virtual attendance through streaming of the general sessions, and in-person attendees will have access to a conference app on the same platform.
Overview of Exhibit Days:
We will have scientific sessions on Monday and Tuesday with no exhibits or sponsorships planned, a transition day and welcoming social event on Wednesday open to attendees of both the scientific and family sessions, and then family sessions on Thursday and Friday, where there will be exhibit and sponsorship opportunities.
Exhibit Location and Hours:
Exhibits will be set up on an outdoor, covered terrace just outside the session rooms and in the flow of traffic to break areas and other parts of the hotel property. Please see the map included in the prospectus. This should help with flow, social distancing, and fresh air.
Exhibits should plan to be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day on Thursday and Friday, giving some time before and after sessions for attendees to stop by. The exception will be for the company choosing the Welcome Social Event sponsorship option, who will be the sole exhibitor from 4:00-6:00 during the event on Wednesday.
Exhibit Attendance:
While it is difficult to make predictions about attendance due to all the uncertainties around the ongoing pandemic, we did have record attendance of just under 428 at our last in-person gathering in 2019 in Washington, DC with 14 countries represented.
How to Become a Sponsor or Exhibitor:
All potential sponsors and exhibitors need to submit an application and be approved by the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation Board of Directors. We will make every effort for a quick turnaround on decisions, which will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
