Celebrating 15 Years of Hope

Fifteen years ago – on July 7, 2011 – the GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation received its official nonprofit designation. It began with a simple but powerful belief that if we work together, our community could create a better future for everyone living with GLUT1 Deficiency.

Since then, by working together as community, we’ve helped accelerate research, connected families around the world, expanded educational resources, supported new investigators, launched collaborative networks, and helped lay the groundwork for treatments that once seemed far beyond reach. Every step forward has been possible because of people who believed in this mission and chose to be part of it.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we’re also looking ahead. Our vision is a future where GLUT1 Deficiency will be easy to diagnose early, treat effectively, and even cure completely. There is much work to do to reach these goals, and it will require steady commitment, long-term investment, and a community that continues working, planning, and hoping together.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce Hearts of Hope – a community of people who want to help build and shape the next chapter of the GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation and who believe that progress is possible when come together with purpose, commitment, and hope.
