Glut1 Deficiency

Research Workshops

divider

The GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation believes that convening the scientific community provides opportunities like no other to build a foundation for learning, collaboration, innovation, and shared progress—ensuring that advances and discoveries that matter most to patients and families can move faster to make lives easier and better.

We began hosting virtual Research Roundtables in early 2022 as part of our activities with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Rare As One Network, and you can see summaries of each of those meetings below.

Online meetings provide an opportunity for anyone from anywhere to be at the table, but there are also unique benefits to meeting and engaging in person, talking over coffee or a shared meal, and pulling out laptops to dig into the latest data with a colleague.

In an effort to provide opportunities for both meeting environments and more regularly and predictably convene the scientific community, we have adopted a new format:

  • In-Person Research Workshops - the first one held in July 2025 and in odd-numbered years to follow
  • GLUT1 Deficiency Scientific and Family Summit - in person in July 2026 and in even-numbered years to follow
  • Virtual Research Workshops - the first one to be held in January 2026 and annually to follow as a brief mid-year check-in
