A New Resource From Our Partners at Citizen Health
At the GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation, we’re always looking for opportunities that may help make life a little easier for individuals and families living with GLUT1 Deficiency.
Many of you are already familiar with Citizen Health through our ongoing partnership on the GLUT1 Deficiency Natural History Study. Through that project, participating families have securely shared medical records to help researchers better understand GLUT1 Deficiency, improve care, and accelerate research. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken part and helped move the science forward.
Today, we’re excited to share another opportunity from our partners at Citizen Health.
Citizen Health has invited the GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation to participate in the early rollout of Ari, an AI-powered health companion designed specifically for people living with rare diseases and the family members who care for them.
While Ari isn’t a replacement for your healthcare team, it is designed to help organize some of the day-to-day tasks that often come with managing a complex medical condition. Depending on your needs, Ari can help with things like:
- Tracking symptoms over time
- Organizing medical information
- Summarizing lab results and medical records in easy-to-understand language
- Helping prepare for appointments
- Assisting with insurance appeals and other administrative tasks (with your review and approval)
As anyone living with GLUT1 Deficiency knows, managing the condition involves much more than doctor’s appointments. There are records to keep organized, questions to remember, paperwork to complete, and countless details to keep track of along the way. We know that can feel overwhelming at times, and sometimes there are resources that have the potential to lighten that load.
Because Ari is still in early testing, Citizen Health is inviting members of our community to help explore the platform and provide feedback. We think this is a wonderful opportunity not only to try a new resource, but also to help shape a tool being developed with rare disease families in mind.
The first 25 members of the GLUT1 Deficiency community who enroll by August 31 will receive complimentary premium access through the end of the year. After that, participants can choose to continue using the free version or upgrade to a premium subscription if they find it valuable.
Whether you’re already participating in the Natural History Study or are completely new to Citizen Health, you’re welcome to explore Ari. Existing Citizen Health users will simply link their current account during the quick signup process.
As with any new technology, we recognize that Ari may not be the right fit for every family. That’s perfectly okay. We simply wanted to share this opportunity because we believe it has the potential to make everyday care a little easier, and the Ari team would love to learn from your experience if you decide to participate.
