We are excited to announce that registration for the 8th Global Symposium on Ketogenic Therapies is now open! The event will take place in-person at the beautiful Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, California, September 17-21, 2023, and a Family Day will be held in conjunction with the symposium on Saturday, September 23rd.

About the Event:

This year’s symposium is presented by Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, in partnership with the recently formed International Neurological Ketogenic Society (INKS), The Charlie Foundation for Ketogenic Therapies, Matthew’s Friends, the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation (G1DF), and the International Society of Neurogastronomy (ISN) to bring together an even higher caliber of speakers and presenters than ever before. The scientific program will be focused on the new horizons for professionals everywhere vested in the burgeoning scientific and medical arenas focused on diet, nutrition, cellular bioenergetics and metabolism.

Specifically, a strong clinical and translational emphasis will be placed on the emerging links between metabolism (at cellular, organ and whole animal/body levels), epigenetics (i.e., genetic control by factors other than those determined by an individual’s specific DNA sequence), and importantly, the gut microbiome.

In addition to cutting-edge keynote and topical presentations, the symposium will include poster sessions, optional workshops, networking opportunities, demonstrations and also rapid-fire research reviews by leading scientists. Attendees with particular interest in either Glut1 Deficiency Syndrome as the model disease for ketogenic therapies or in the provocative science and practicality of Neurogastronomy (which affects us all) will have opportunities to delve more deeply into these areas through more focused parallel afternoon sessions.

Throughout the symposium, there will be ample time for attendee engagement through group and individual interactions. The faculty and moderators are all internationally recognized experts in their fields, and the program will cover many of the advances made in the areas of epilepsy, brain cancer, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, and much more.

This biennial symposium has unquestionably been and continues to be the definitive global venue for metabolism-based therapies for neurological disorders.
