2024 Million Dollar Bike Ride (and Walk!)

divider

We are so grateful that Team Glut1 has been awarded another spot in the 2024 Million Dollar Bike Ride, which will be held on Saturday, June 8th on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

The MDBR in sponsored by Penn Medicine’s Orphan Disease Center and raises awareness and critical funds for rare disease research. For each rare disease team that raises a minimum of $20k, the Orphan Disease Center will match it, dollar for dollar, up to $30k, to be used to support a 1-year pilot grant for new GLUT1DS research – that’s up to $60,000 to help drive research progress!  Our community has participated in the MDBR seven of the last eight years, resulting in over $388,000 of direct research grants for our disease.

It is easy to set up your own team and ride or walk under Team Glut1 for your own family member, or come cheer and support others on.  It is an amazing day, shared with Glut1 families, as well as many other rare individuals and disease teams that all face challenges in life, but come out in force to support and make a difference.

Once again there will be ride distances of 10, 32, and 70 miles and a walk: the Million Dollar Mile!  We would love for you to join us to ride, walk, or cheer, on Saturday June 8, 2024.
